As excellent of a reporter as Danny Casalaro was, he fell for a ruse in the last year of his life. The key individuals running guns and drugs for the CIA in Iran Contra used a program called Systematics, owned by Jackson Stevens in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Jackson Stevens secretly ran their Systematics covert action financing network out of Venice, Florida, through a bank called BCCI. Danny Casalaro was fooled into thinking that the PROMIS software was the software running the Iran Contra covert network out of an Indian reservation in Indio, California, hence the name of this series - Indio.
The PROMIS software that Danny Casalaro researched so deeply used was an elaborate ruse to lead Casalaro away from the great work investigative reporter Gary Webb had done about Iran Contra, but there is good news.
Investigative authors like Dan Hopsicker and Wayne Madsen were able to latter see through the ruse, and report about the real Systematics covert network, and the drug and gun running being hidden in the software.
Again, I am not saying that Casalaro didn’t report on Kissinger, Cheney, and Rumsfeld in 1991 reporting on PROMIS, but I am saying the Netflix series barely mentions these three most important characters at all, and Hopsicker got that story right with Systematics and Jackson Stephens. Whitney Webb and others had validated Hopsicker’s original research as well.
Casalaro would be murdered in 1991 before George Bush and Cheney would hand over the Arkansas operations to Bill Clinton. But Systematics was running Iran Contra in the 1980s, not the PROMIS software.
Danny Casalaro was approached by an insider from the NSA under the guise of being a whistleblower, so Casalaro gave a lot of credibility to his covert source.
Casalaro still made astonishing discoveries regarding the Iraq War, most notably in the area of biological and chemical weapons use in Iraq. I have been trolled continually for the past eight years by someone who touted no less than six relatives who worked at the National Security Agency of Ed Snowden fame. NSA also uses contractors like Ed Snowden’s Booze Allen, making it easier to exfiltrate call data records and proprietary records.
My point here is I also chased NSA leads on Capitol Hill and at Ft. Meade, just like Casalaro, so I am not saying I am in any way smarter or more situationally aware than Casalaro.
George Webb has covered the NSA for eight years, including many on-site visits to Ft. Meade.
Here I am at Ft. Meade in Maryland amongst the seven different NSA contractors involved in Crossfire Hurricane. Seventy different contractors were involved in leaking data for Crossfire Hurricane, but all the leaks were blamed on only one contractor, an Air Force lieutenant named Reality Winner.
But Casalaro was taken in by the PROMIS software ruse. We will still cover the valuable insights that Danny Casalaro discovered. Still, we will dispense with the make-believe stories and entanglements of dozens of Federal Agencies and foreign governments that he believes the PROMIS software maintained.
PROMIS software doesn’t do what it has been hyped up as doing in the Netflix document, “American Conspiracy - The Octopus Murders.” Not even close. But Casalaro knew phone calls generated call data records, and he was closing in on the story of Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney supplying chemical weapons and anthrax to Saddam Hussein.
I know this news will disappoint some Danny Casalaro fans who have filled their walls with red conspiracy yarn, like the reporting in the Netflix documentary on the topic. But I will prove this case over future episodes of this series.
Oh yeah, Hillary Clinton, Webb Hubbell, and Vince Foster all worked for Systematics.
